Instructor classes are held frequently. We welcome all new instructors and provide ongoing training and information dissemination in order to keep our instructors up-to-date on the latest American Heart Association guidelines.
Our classes are set in an atmosphere that allows potential instructors to learn while not being stressed.
To get started, instructor candidates must have a current Provider CPR Card for the discipline for which they wish to teach. All potential instructors must first pay for the course to become registered and purchase and complete the Core Instructor Course (see Class Schedules and Cost for Classes). A Certificate of Completion from the Core Instructor Course must be brought to the class, along with a copy of your current provider CPR card. The Core Instructor Course must be purchased through our company.
We will contact you regarding the courses you wish to teach and guide you through knowing the correct materials that must be purchased in order to become certified. For instance, if you only want to teach healthcare providers, we will help you know the precise materials you will need to purchase for the class. If you wish you teach non-healthcare providers, we will help you understand which books/DVDs, etc., you will need to become an instructor for the Heart Saver Courses.
Instructor in-person classes are one day in length. Once this course is completed, you will be required to be monitored while teaching a course for which you wish to become certified. This will be worked out between you and us. We are here to help you through this process and to help ensure your success.
The actual Instructor Card is not issued to potential instructors until the monitored class has been successfully completed.
